About me
What’s up? I’m excited to share my story with you and for you to get to know me. A bit about myself, I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. I come from a big family with four brothers and a sister. In terms of my education, I attended Union College and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Film Studies.
While practicing my film studies minor in college, I learned the ins and outs of how to operate different cameras. I was also filming videos for my Youtube channel. On my channel, I discussed topics pertaining to race, racism, and social justice. I kept people informed of individuals who lost their life to police brutality However, after I graduated, I took a break from making Youtube videos. During that time, I became heavily involved in the Black Lives Matter protests that started in the summer of 2020 after the death of George Floyd. I continued protesting throughout the summer and the fall as well. In January of 2021, I decided that I wanted to start making videos for my Youtube Channel again. That was the initial reason I purchased my first camera, a Canon M50
During this time, I began to recall the reason why I started protesting. I wanted to be a part of the fight that demanded justice and equality for my brothers and sisters. These protests were history in the making and I wanted to be a part of it. Not only did I want to be a part of this history, I decided I wanted to document it. After that, I began taking my camera with me to protests. I began to share photos from each one I went to while also sharing the story of what each one was about and I’ve continued to do that ever since. I want people to be informed of these protests and what they’re about with the hopes that they would join the fight for justice and equality as well.
I believe that through my camera, with each photo, I can tell a story and I want to tell as many stories as possible.
